Outlife Foam Blocks are a bowl-shaped padding designed to be the optimal intermediary between a kayak and a car's roof rack. No tools are needed, and they are very easy to install. Simply press the foam blocks into place and lay the kayak on top. Then secure the kayak with a strap at the front and one at the back. When you have unloaded the kayak, the foam blocks can be easily removed.
The design of the hole profile is made so that force is transferred from the roof rack all the way to the edge of the foam block. This provides excellent force distribution over the 12 cm of the foam block.
With the foam blocks, the kayak is typically transported right-side up, with the bottom facing down. When used in conjunction with the Outlife High Loader, the kayak can also be loaded on its side to accommodate more kayaks on the roof rack.
