Description
Paddle float for self-rescue when you have fallen out of your kayak.
The float is used to stabilize the kayak, making it easier for you to get back into the kayak after ending up in the water. The float floats and attaches to one blade of the paddle. The other blade of the paddle is then placed under the kayak's deck lines, which stabilizes the kayak and allows you to easily get back in without losing your balance.
There are also inflatable paddle floats that take up less space, but the advantage of a solid float is that you don't have to inflate it while in the water. You simply slide it over the paddle blade and attach the other side of the paddle to the kayak, which is usually appreciated when you find yourself in the water.
If you are out on a longer expedition, the float can also be used as a seat cushion, as protection when you pull your kayak ashore, and as a pillow for overnight stays.
The Paddlespot paddle float has pockets that are accessible from both sides. There are good buckles for securing it to the kayak's deck lines, and small handy whistles in the attachments. A solid paddle float is ready for use and can easily be taken on the trip by fastening it just behind the cockpit.
