Bayonet-fit rudder pin sleeve with flange.
This is one of the most common rudder mount fittings you’ll come across on sea kayaks.
The bayonet fitting means the rudder can only be fitted and removed at a specific angle. In practice, that makes it harder to accidentally knock the rudder loose or drop it while handling the boat.
The flange at the top of the sleeve also makes installation easier: it gives you something solid to hold onto so you can fasten the sleeve in position and reduce the risk of it slipping down into the kayak during mounting.
