SmartTrack CRW Rudder Cable Attachment Kit

The SmartTrack CRW Cable Lock is compatible with cables or lines with a diameter of 1.5mm.

This locking mechanism minimizes wear on the rudder line. Inside the lock, there is a wedge that can be pushed back, allowing for easy adjustment of the rudder line length.

If you want to remove the rudder for transport, you can easily do so by removing the locking ring.

The kit includes:

• SmartTrack CRW Body (item number ST44-426)
• SmartTrack CRW Wedge (item number ST44-407)
• SmartTrack Locking Pin for rudder head (item number ST44-519)
• SmartTrack Locking Ring for rudder head (item number ST44-520)
• SmartTrack Pivot Pin for rudder head (item number ST44-509)
• SmartTrack Shrink Tube (item number ST43-811)

The CRW Cable Lock is delivered in pairs.

Installation Instructions

To install, start by threading the cable/line through the shrink tube, continue into the crescent-shaped “CRW body” through the small opening, place the wedge in the large opening, wrap the cable around the wedge, and thread the cable back out again. Insert the locking pin ST44-509 and bend it to hold the wedge in place.

Align the CRW cable lock with the rudder's attachment point for the rudder line, insert the locking pin “Clevis Pin”, and secure the locking pin ST44-519 with the locking ring ST44-520.

Now tighten the cables to the desired position, cut off the excess cable, and slide the shrink tube over the end of the cable. Heat the shrink tube with a hairdryer or carefully with a lighter.

The CRW Cable Lock is compatible with SmartTrack's rudder heads: Original, Flow, Compact, Race, Ski, and Ski-B, as well as other rudders with holes perpendicular to the direction of travel. If the hole is longitudinal, a connecting link, such as a keyring/shackle, is needed.
