Description
SmartTrack Race rudder head is a smaller, very strong, and popular aluminum rudder head that is used on a variety of kayaks with a low stern.
Thanks to the strength and stability of the rudder head, it maintains maximum rudder effectiveness even in strong lateral weather conditions. It offers good rudder deflection and is easy to retract. If you paddle over a rock or similar obstacle, the rudder easily springs back. The rudder pin is equipped with a bayonet fitting, ensuring that you can always rely on the rudder staying in place.
The rudder head comes with the Cable Lock Kit CRW (ST940) and the Rudder Retract Kit ST-K900.
The rudder head can be combined with two different sizes of rudder blades, with Tandem (ST931) being the standard for sea kayaks.
Specifications
- The distance from the center of the sleeve to the transom must be a maximum of 40mm.
- The rudder head extends 58mm below its mounting point.

If you have a kayak that is lower in the back, you may want the SmartTrack rudder head, Ski, or Ski-B. If you want the rudder to extend further into the water, you should consider Compact, Flow, or Original, depending on how deep you want the rudder to sit in the water.
