SmartTrack rudder blades are available in three sizes: "SmartTrack Short Foil," "SmartTrack Single," and "SmartTrack Tandem."
SmartTrack Single is 34cm long and is the shorter variant of the two models. It is most commonly used on kayaks with a low stern. They are also popular when less water resistance is desired, as a shorter blade has less surface area in the water.
SmartTrack Tandem is 42cm long and is the longer variant of the two models. Tandem is the most common rudder blade for sea kayaks, as paddlers often value the best possible rudder performance. The difference in rudder effectiveness is especially noticeable in rough waters.
The rudder lift line is attached in the same way to both rudder blades. This is done by tying a knot at the end of the line, which you then insert into the hole at the back edge of the rudder and tighten. You do not need to thread the line through the hole.
The rudder blades come with a SmartTrack Spring (item no. ST44-518).
