Description

A traditional wooden Greenland paddle for touring and rolling that takes you back to the origins of kayaking.

This model is based on a traditional paddle from western Greenland. The paddle features an oval cross-section and marked shoulders at the transition between the shaft and the blade.

The oval shape of the blades makes them slightly quieter when paddling compared to the diamond-shaped model from eastern Greenland. The marked shoulders facilitate hand placement.

NANOOK is made from Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata), a lightweight and beautiful wood. The shafts have pine inserts to make them stiffer. The paddles are treated with Chinese tung oil to protect the wood and provide a pleasant and secure grip.

Paddling with a Greenland paddle is gentle on the muscles and joints. The long, narrow blade glides easily and quietly through the water and is also not sensitive to wind.
