A traditional wooden Greenland paddle for touring and rolling — a quiet, clean design that takes you back to the roots of kayaking.

This model is based on a traditional paddle from Western Greenland. It has an oval cross-section and clearly defined shoulders where the loom transitions into the blades. The tips are reinforced with an epoxy mix designed to mimic classic bone edge protection — and they glow in the dark.

The oval blade profile is a little quieter in the water than the diamond-shaped East Greenland style. The pronounced shoulders also make it easier to find a consistent hand position, especially when practising rolls and extended strokes.

NANOOK is made from Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata), a light, beautiful timber. Pine inlays in the loom add stiffness where it matters. The paddle is finished with Chinese tung oil to protect the wood and give a comfortable, secure grip.

Paddling with a Greenland paddle is gentle on muscles and joints. The long, narrow blades enter and release smoothly, and the low profile is less sensitive to wind than wider Euro-style blades.

Paddlespot Tip: Use the shoulders as a natural reference for hand placement. Once your grip becomes consistent, rolls and sculling braces tend to feel calmer and more repeatable.
