When you’re touring, you often sit in the cockpit for hours at a time — and your jacket needs to keep doing its job, even when the wind picks up and the rain turns persistent. The NRS Orion is designed with that kind of paddling in mind, using a durable 4-layer Eclipse™ fabric that breathes well when you’re working hard.
The hood and high collar help you stay warm and dry across a wide range of conditions. The collar closes with a diagonal zip, so you can fold it down easily when you don’t need the extra protection. Inside, it’s fleece-lined for comfort, and the section around the mouth is perforated to help reduce fogging on glasses and sunglasses.
At the neck there’s a soft GlideSkin gasket that helps keep water out — whether it’s steady rain or spray coming over the deck. The wrists use latex gaskets, protected by neoprene over-cuffs, to keep water from pushing up into the sleeves.
The double waist and spraydeck tunnel work together with a cockpit spraydeck to limit water entry, even in demanding conditions. It’s a simple detail that makes a real difference when the water is moving and you want the cockpit to stay as dry as possible.
A fleece-lined, full-width kangaroo pocket across the front gives you a place to warm your hands on cold days. There are also pockets on the sleeves for small items you want close at hand on the water.
