Kajaksport is the most common brand of kayak hatches and is used by most kayak manufacturers as original equipment due to its high quality. This model is made of genuine rubber and is designed to remain watertight even under very tough conditions. They are well-tested and have a long lifespan. There are attachment points for a safety strap on both the inside and outside.
Which size should you choose?
Choosing the right size hatch is not always straightforward. The measurements provided do not actually refer to the hatch itself, as one might assume. Instead, they represent the size of the opening on the kayak.
To select the correct hatch size, you need to measure the outer dimensions of the kayak's coaming. Measure the outer dimension at the longest and widest points. Then use the table below to find the right size. Be sure to measure carefully, as in some cases, there may not be much difference between sizes.
Do you have a kayak from P&H, Valley, Impex, or Necky? Then you will likely need the size 41/22cm.
