Complete skeg system for your kayak.
This is Kajaksport's latest skeg concept, which has become incredibly popular due to its well-functioning design. Unlike many other types of skeg systems, this system does not use a wire. Instead, a line made of Dyneema is used to control the skeg. The advantage is that a line has low friction and does not kink, while Dyneema is as stiff and durable as a wire. The length of the line can also be easily adjusted if needed.
The skeg is equipped with a stainless steel spring that allows for free upward movement in the event of grounding when the skeg is deployed. This prevents damage to both the skeg and the kayak.
The skeg is adjusted with a new type of low-profile skeg control that allows for smooth installation close to the cockpit. The control is precise and elegant in its function and automatically locks in place to keep the skeg in the correct position. For kayaks that do not have a recess for the skeg control in the deck, an adapter box can be used (KS521710). An adapter box allows for easier installation of the skeg control.
This product is available in three different variants, with the difference being the design of the skeg box.
