Description
Cuff glue for neoprene and latex seals.
A practical adhesive for replacing latex seals on drysuits and paddling jackets. It also works well for bonding small repair patches.
Instructions:
- Cut away the damaged seal, but leave around 3 cm attached to the suit/jacket. This remaining section acts as the mounting surface for the new seal.
- Support the garment on a cylindrical shape (for example a plastic bottle) so the material lies smooth and stable while you work.
- Lightly roughen both bonding surfaces (the new seal and the remaining old seal) with sandpaper to help the glue grip.
- Clean the surfaces to be bonded with methylated spirits (denatured alcohol) and let them dry.
- Apply a thin layer of glue to both surfaces. Do not press the parts together yet.
- Let the glue dry for about 30 minutes.
- Position the new seal where you want it, then warm the glued seam with a hair dryer to activate the bond.
- Leave to cure for 24 hours before use.
