Description
SmartTrack rudder blades come in three sizes: SmartTrack Short Foil, SmartTrack Single, and SmartTrack Tandem.
SmartTrack Single is 34 cm long and is the shorter of the two standard blades. It’s often fitted to kayaks with a low stern. Many paddlers also choose it when they want to keep drag down, since a shorter blade presents less area in the water.
SmartTrack Tandem is 42 cm long and is the longer of the two standard blades. This is the most common blade size on sea kayaks, where you typically prioritise strong, predictable steering. The difference is especially noticeable in larger waves.
The rudder uphaul line attaches the same way on both blades. Tie a knot in the end of the line, place the knot into the hole at the trailing edge of the blade, and snug it down. There’s no need to thread the line through the hole.
The blades are supplied with a SmartTrack spring (part no. ST44-518).
