Which size should you choose?
Choosing the right oval hatch cover size isn’t always straightforward. The measurements listed for the cover are not the hatch cover’s outer dimensions — even though that’s a common assumption. Instead, they are intended to match the size of the opening on the kayak.
To get the correct fit, measure the outer dimensions of your kayak’s hatch rim — the moulded lip that the hatch cover stretches over. Because the hatch is oval, measure both the longest and the widest points of the rim.
Use these measurements to find the closest match in the size table below. Measure carefully, as the difference between sizes can be small. A close match is essential for the hatch cover to fit properly and seal reliably.
