A quick, ready-to-use paddle float for self-rescue after a capsize.
Use the float to stabilise your kayak and make re-entry easier after a swim. The float provides buoyancy and slides over one paddle blade. Place the other blade under the deck lines, creating an outrigger that steadies the kayak so you can climb back in with better balance and control.
There are also inflatable paddle floats that pack smaller, but the advantage of a foam float is simplicity: you don’t need to inflate it while you’re in the water. Slide it onto the paddle blade, secure the other end of the paddle under the deck lines, and focus on getting back in.
On longer trips, it can also double as a sit pad, protection when pulling your kayak up on shore, or a small pillow for an overnight stop.
