Description
The SmartTrack Original stern-mount blade housing/rudder head is a strong, well-proven aluminium unit for a clean, solid installation at the very end of the kayak.
Stern mounting requires a straight, flat stern, as the screws are positioned roughly 4 cm apart vertically and go straight into the stern. Done properly, this creates a very rigid rudder mount. The strength and stability of the housing helps you keep as much rudder authority as possible, even when the kayak is being pushed hard sideways by wind and waves.
The housing can be paired with two different rudder blade sizes. The Tandem blade (ST931) is the standard choice for sea kayaks.
Supplied with the CRW cable lock kit (ST940) and the rudder lift/raise kit (ST6105).
The rudder is secured in the bracket with the “Hinge Pin ST44-527”, which is included.
